About Us
So you're wondering how Heather and Steve crossed paths? As most solid relationships
do, this one started on a basketball court. I was playing on an intramural
team (The Wyld Stallyns) in the spring of 2001 at the University of Iowa, when Heather showed up
one week
to fill in for a missing teammate. We both promptly ignored each other..although
Heather had to be impressed by my 40 point performance. (She'll never admit this,
and no, those game stats can't be verified). We did, however, manage to lose to a team
with only 4 players.
Soon after, Heather visited Mondo's Tomato Pie, my bartending home for three years.
Thanks to her friend Katie, we finally broke the ice...and the rest is history.
San Diego
We graduated from Iowa, and in 2002 headed west to San Diego, where we settled in Clairemont.
Heather worked at Children's Hospital, while I worked as a computer programmer. A new addition
joined
the team as well, our killer Shih Tzu, Potter. Potter is a great little fella, and has the macho
attitude of Brian Urlacher, although he is afraid of plastic bags and anything sitting near a
wall.
Life in SD is hard to compete with, the beaches and vibe are amazing, and we'll always miss the
calm, laid-back
surf town where flip-flops and board shorts are the norm for a night out. Who knows, we may end
up back out
that way at some point; we found so many great friends and great memories out there. Also the
machaca
burritos in the midwest leave something to be desired.
Chicago & Beyond
After a difficult decision to leave, we headed back to the midwest to be closer to family, life-
long
friends, grass that didn't hurt to walk on, and snow...lots of snow. We found an old apartment in
Wrigleyville,
about a block south of Wrigley Field. Life is good here, Heather is working at Town and Country
Pediatric Clinic in Lincoln
Park, and I'm bouncing around the city working for Clarity Consulting.
Heather and I were engaged on August 24, 2005, along Lake Michigan. It was an amazing night we'll
never forget.
We were married on September 1, 2007, at the Starved Rock Lodge in Utica, Illinois. Words can't
describe how lucky we are to have such a wonderful group of friends & relatives. The wedding weekend was
amazing, and the honeymoon
in Greece was the trip of our lives.
Thanks for coming by, love you guys!
